Here are some of the folks we watched play, wow, such talent. The fella below came all the way from Kansas, all his friends and neighbors went together to help send him. Did He win??? (snicker) ya gotta wait to see.
This little guy was on the stage almost all the time, and he put up with NO nonsense! If things got to wild he would let them know to stop! He was a cutie, rode around with his owner on a 4wheeler, and he let everyone know that it was HIS!!!If you look close, this little guy is on a ball! And now you can see he is Juggling, AND playing a jig on the harmonica! Wow, I can't walk and chew gum!!!!!This was wonderful, this fella is playing with a stick, a string and an old galvanized tub, and man could he get with it!! I remember stuff like this, the spoons, the wash board etc. OK, OK, I'm old!Have you ever seen so many different harmonicas? Holy Cow!!And here are the long dudes, you will see the fella using this one, it was amazing! These are the 2 judges, they were from Philadelphia, and were sure they were gonna be dropped in the middle of nowhere. They came into Yellow Pine at 2am, and were amazed that the lady that picked them up knew where she was going, it was REALLY dark they said! Guess it doesn't get that dark in Philadelphia! Here you see the man that played the long one, he went from one end to the other, he was quite skinny, but bet he works with weights to be able to keep his arms up that long, well, maybe he just plays a LOT!! ha haThis guy played the smaller one, but WOW it was amazing!! If any of you remember the Harmonicats of yesteryear, both these guys have played with them at one time or another. This young lady was only 11yrs old, (almost 12) I'm 69, (almost 70), but isn't it funny we don't say that at our age! HA HA She played the bass harmonica as well as the regular one, and she was really good! Here they are, all playing, one the melody harmonica, one the harmony, and the young lady played the bass. AMAZING sound!!!Anyone can play, that's what they told this lady who volunteered from the audience. She only had to blow one note when they told her to, and she did a fine job! The harmonica was so small, you could hardly see it however.............................this guy took another small harmonica, and started out playing 'twinkle twinkle little star', not impressive, right? But when he played the "William Tell Overture", you know, "HI HO SILVER"!! That was impressive! (I think it was that song, if not, it was amazing anyway because he didn't swallow it!)This little lady was the announcer, the money taker, and the one who got the judges from Boise, Id. to Yellow Pine. She was a bit disappointed that there were so few entrants for the contest. She said in past years they would have over 30, this year was under 10. One being this young man, remember him? He won first place in his division, he was the only one in that division, but he was really good! Most contestants not only played, they sang as well. All of the above were contestants, one all the way from Australia! They also had a a dog contest, it was so much fun!! Notice the glasses on this fella!cutest puppy.......This fella won. There were so many, I was glad I wasn't a judge! Do you look like your pet? I thought this girl should win, she didn't, she even panted like her dog!loved the dogs!Would you look at that face? There was entertainment and this sweetie was so patient, I was eating an Elephant Ear and he wanted a bite, but the owner said no, sorry fella! It was quite a motley crew, all ages, and types of folks, some quite entertaining I would say.I stuck this in because she was so cute! Not a good picture, she refused to stand still, she just kept marching! Here you have your winner, He was from Australia and was very good. The fella from Kansas came in second, and now had to figure out how to get home!Bob & Cindy were enjoying the youngsters as well as the festival, as you can see! Aren't they cute? This is what it looked like when we headed back to Whody our bus. It was very pretty there, that's for sure!
Sorry it has taken me so long, got all the pictures on, had written on about 6, pushed something and all the rest were gone. ARrrrggghh.......... shut the computer down and said phooey , then got so many folks talking about the blog I felt guilty, so I am back for another few blogs! Love to all of you that are so faithful! Until next time, Hugs, Prayers and Smiles, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
