Lake Havasue City Blue Grass Festival

We pulled into our favorite Park only to be told "sorry, closed for a special function", when we found out what the "function" was, it made us both grin, and we signed up, they gave us our pass, and put us right up front where we could see the lake, we had arrived at the Lake Havasu City Blue Grass on the Beach, it was a Tuesday, we had just left Bob & Cindy on Monday, but had to call and tell them about it!  We told them what a great spot we had and that we could see the stage from Whody, and for them to come on down, we would save a spot, not thinking they would, they were at Larry & Carols near Tucson, to do more work on their bus, but low and behold, here they came................
They got there the next morning, called us and we went and got them, what a treat that was to have friends to enjoy all this with!
After getting settled, we realized that we wouldn't be able to see the water after all, because all the vendors were in a circle around the picnic area, bummer!!   We could still see the stage from our bedroom window, but nope, took our chairs and sat on the beautiful green grass. Below you can see us, and all the vendors setting up, almost hiding us from view, but did we have a great spot or what!  Whoo,Hoo!
Of course that week~end there was also a car show, so the fellas enjoyed that too. Pretty cool lookin', huh?
The opening ceremony was awesome, with the U.S. Navy Band, and the Marine Corp. Color Guard.  The whole week~end was dedicated to our Veterans, and it was awesome, to say the least!
Course the Local businesses got their advertisements in, this was for a restaurant, they pulled a big trailer in and handed out tons of peanuts, free to those who wanted them, as well as free coupons to their establishment.
These fellas were with the U.S.Navy, band, and they were great, they also participated in some of the jams, just like reg~ler folks, and from what we saw, they were having a blast!
During one of the jams, they happened on a base that was made with a base drum, so asked the fella if they could borrow it for a short while.  It sounded great but looked weird.  It was fun though, for sure!
These folks are Audie Blaylock & Redline, a superb group, Blue Grass Band of the year in 2010.  The fiddle player was sooo gifted, but really tall, below you can see how he had to kneel every time he played his solo parts.  He and the banjo player were two very talented youngsters!
These are the Spinney Bros. from Nova Scotia, what a talented bunch, we found them in a jam with none other than those folks from their home providence.  One of the fellas wrote a song that cracked us up, "I just don't look good naked, anymore"  boy can we identify with that!! hee hee!!  It wasn't naughty, just cute!
Of course their were advertisers all over the place, even in the air!  Now I want to introduce you to LULU, she is a friend we acquired in Texas,  she has decided to join us on our journey, so keep an eye out for her. She harmonizes, sings, and even calls out "Nite nite" when she is ignored, but she is cute, so we handle it!
The fellas here were called 'Hey Boyz', and we weren't sure just what was gona happen, but they were superb, the fella you see singing, had a wonderful voice, and could he yodel,  something you see little of these days! yeehaw, hope to see them again!!!!
Folks had their own transportation, even with friends like this one, and others took the shuttle.  It's a big campground, and if you aren't able to walk, it is great to have a shuttle.
The fact that Bob & Cindy came, made it special, we all enjoyed the music and the friendship.
We even got to see some beautiful white Herons, and beautiful Sunsets to top it all off!!
I forgot to tell you we were parked right in front of the porta pottys, and everyone teased us about being in "Potty Row", we didn't care, it was a great spot!!!
Well folks, another down, come on back for the next one, will try to keep 'em comin'!   Prayers, Hugs and Smiles, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy   LULU too!
