Desert Rats (sorta)

Cute sign, huh, but ya know what?  They may have seen one burro back in the 1920's, but no one has seen another since.  We see a lot of signs like this, watch out for turtles, nope, none, etc.,etc.
Anyway, to get back to the blog, that was the sign that led us up a gravel Rd...........................
To look at it you wouldn't know there is a beautiful Valley back there, just the perfect place to camp.  In the desert you have to have your own facilities, water, lights, etc, and that is what we have found we really like, so come prepared with water and either solar panels or a generator, and you will find some mighty fine folks back there!
Like these two, that's Whody in front and The Last Resort, belonging to Bob & Cindy, behind us, don't we look spiffy back there? Yep, Yep! Yer lookin' at nice folks!
Of course boys will be boys, and both these guys had to go over the mountain to see what they can see, above is Bill, below is Bob, and with that done............
We took a little ride, Whoa, there are Bob and Cindy with 'Flat Stanley', if you have younguns' you know about the book, Stanley is so flat you can fold him and put him in an envelope, and that is just what there grandson did, so Grampa & Gramma could introduce him around, you will see him a little later!
On our car trip we saw this really great gypsy wagon with a pickup to match.  LOOK, it even has a great back porch to watch the sunsets and we think a wood stove, look close and you can see a chimney!  In talking to the camp host, she told us he lives near here and doesn't drive far because it is really heavy, HUH?, not as heavy as Whody I'll bet!
Whoa, Flat Stanley meets his very first desert creature, I think it is a gecko, and will you look at the way he is looking at Stanley?  Sorta like, what IS this thing and what is it doing on the roof of my house!  For the youngsters out there, Flat Stanley wasn't afraid, he just stood his ground and smiled!!
Of course there were hills to be climbed and Bob & Cindys bus to fix, but there was also lots to do that we most enjoy......................
Oh No, the truth is out, even Sassy has been infected with the latest disease, Lazy Itis. Ha Ha
Just enough sun to make it just right!!!! Actually, Bill and Bob did a lot of work on their bus, and Cindy and I went shopping, good deal huh?  We cooked out a lot and had fun together, again I say it is great to have friends to play with, even if you aren't a kid!
Then we decided we had worked and shopped enough, we needed a day off, so we got out a map and decided where to go.  My next blog will tell you where, but if you look at the map, you will know!
This guy was bigger than the other lizardy fella, but was nice enough to let us take his picture too, don't wanna be upstaged by little brother ya know!
So until the next blog, short and sweet, like a condensed book, keep a smile on your mug and a prayer in your heart! Hugs and Love, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
