Hey, I finally got this right, here we are in a Wal~Mart near Sioux Falls, SD, and would you just look at the beautiful flowers in my front yard! Didn't have to plant them, don't water them, but sure do enjoy them! Here we are parked in the City Park in Fort Pierre, SD. What a wonderful time was had at this little park. Unlike Oregon, Fort Pierre folks are allowed to set off fireworks, all kinds, even the really big ones. We were a bit worried at first, because Whody was sitting right in the middle of all the mayhem, but we were so pleasantly surprised, that although there were a lot of fireworks, everyone was very careful. These 2 little guys were so cute, they were from Nebraska, and their parents had gotten some of the "bigger" fireworks for them, what a great time they had!Now when I say fireworks, I mean BiG fireworks as you can see in the above picture! It was so awesome, it felt like I was a little girl in Pierre again. The stuff you see above was from only one family who spent $1000, not me, there are to many other things we need., but, it showed what a great spirit the people of the USA have, no matter what is going on today. And a miracle happened, everyone pretty much cleaned up their own mess, AWESOME, would like to be there next year! GO FORT PIERRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The empty lot is where my Grannys house use to be, and where I lived until I was 7. I was sad that it was gone, but that is the way of us old folks, right? We drove by a few things that I remembered, was barely 7, so didn't remember much, the St. Charles Hotel, use to go watch what I thought was rich folks, the Capital building, use to play on the front lawn, but now it has been fixed up so nice, with memorials to all our deserving Service Men, and it is quite a thing of beauty, Something for South Dakota to be proud of., Then the old theater where as a 4 & 5 year old I use to smash cans and put them on a string to get into the movie on Saturdays.( yes, I'm THAT old) The Marquee was gone, but think it was put on a theater further in town. I remember picnics on the 4th of July, by the Missouri river, but not sure just where, all has changed so much. Here is a picture of the Missouri, I believe it was the "Bad River" that ran into the Missouri. Pretty.Took this to show you that we are everywhere, you cannot get away from us, HAHA. This is a small blog, and we are now in Custer, SD. Went to Sturgis yesterday, still have that one in the hopper, so come on back when you can. In the meantime, Prayers, Hugs and Smiles, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy Oh yes, thanks to the South Dakota tourism for the nice comment, yes we are busy, and yes we do love your beautiful state!
