MORE Fun With Friends in and around Quartzsite

When our friends Bob & Cindy told us they would buy lunch after church, we said "sure", why not, free food! Got a little suspicious when they told us to change clothes and follow them. Out to the desert we went, wondering where in the world did they find a restaurant out here, when they headed up into the mountains, we looked at each other, shrugged and decided they had packed a picnic lunch, OK, that was fun, then we saw this sign, Wow we thought, a resort, out here??? Yessir~ee the best kind.

Here we were, someone had poured a concrete slab, built a great fire pit out of a dryer drum, and left a few chairs, found out that as people come here, they leave a chair, or firewood, or something of themselves, 18people came here on Christmas Eve, decorated the trees with ornaments, added another chair, had a cook~out and spent the night! Cool! There is also a can, the kind you get popcorn in at Christmas, with a 'guest book' in it, talk about FUN reading about all the folks that come here, it was super!

It even had its own graveyard, and someone had put up a cute little burro, look close and you can see "Joes" boots, can't bury a man without his boots ya know!

Had a limo service, just give ol Joe a call, best service in town!

Had private facilities, only a one holer, but what more do you need?

Course you know me, had to use those facilities immediately, not as private as I'd like, but.....OH WELL, when ya gotta go ya gotta go!

In the meantime Bill had rounded up firewood and enough paper stuff to start the fire for our cookout, what a guy!

Got the fire going and Bob yells, HEY, found a grill for us to use! This grill hooked to the top of the tripod, and you could move it around, nuthin' but the best for us!

Cooked our dogs, here is Bill socking one away. We were even treated to dogs wrapped in biscuit dough, then put on a stick and roasted, YUMMY!!!!

The Resort, (well, the McAleers) thought of everything, we even got to toast HUGE marshmallows, I liked mine burnt, but Cindy got hers to a golden brown.

Got through with our meal and were just sitting there, and up drives some folks in their ATVs, and wondered 'How in the world did we get clear up here in our SUVs', welllll we says, we ain't afeared, we just tootled along til we got here! So they decided to sit down fer a spell and have a soda with us, they live in Quartzsite in the winter, and come up here often for the peace and quiet, sometimes bringin' their picnic with them too!
,

They had a really cute Schnauzer named Daisy, and she just LOVED Cindy, jumped in her lap and just kissed and kissed her!

Don't know how this picture got in there, Sassy finally gave Bob 'Permission' to touch her, we had only been running around together for over a month! About time!

Anyway, after our picnic and visiting, we headed home across the desert, and the next morning we all headed our separate ways, "SOB" We will miss all our friends, but will see them again next year, Ahhhhh now I feel lotz better!

From here we are gona haul donkey across Texas into Louisiana, and head for Florida, don't miss out on THAT adventure, new territory, YIPEE!!!!!

Smiles, Hugs, Prayers & Love, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
