Fun with friends in and around Quartzsite

Hello, another journey into the desert yielded up this cute little homestead. On the left is the "home", and on the right is the guys shop, go figure, even back then the barn was bigger than the house! However.... the house was quite nice, had quartz around the doors and windows to make it quite pretty for the little lady.Inside was interesting, there were cans in the walls.........................................

and beer bottles just under the roof line, the fellas thought maybe it was to conserve on concrete, or as a cooling agent, but no one really knows.

Here is our friend Jan, being a "pinup girl" in front of the shop, she is such a kick!

Now here is the "couple of the year with their adorable little doggie, also in front of the shop you will note!!

This is another old mining camp, not quite as 'all together' as the last place, but..........................

It had a fireplace.Bill wanted my picture, but said "don't just stand there, do something, so I cooked him a roast and am holding the platter, don't those roasted taters and carrots look yummy??

I could have cooked it outside, this was the cooking area with chimney and all, but thought it more fun to do it inside, nice to be able to be choosy!

Bill got jealous after he took my picture, so HAD to take one of him and the girl!!!

And here we go again, Gary & Jan in the front, Bob & Cindy in the middle, and Bill & I in the rear in case we needed any help. Our Suzuki was lower than their rigs, but we did ok.

Bob found a hill and just HAD to go up it, there was just barely enough room to turn around, and there was a sheer cliff on the other side, Cindy got out of the car until he was ready to head down. She was screaming all the way up and all the way down! Bob? He LOVED it, if we had something other than our car you can bet Bill would have been right behind Bob, but unlike Cindy, I would have loved it!

Here is Cindy doing a little Victory dance after they were down, this looks high, but it wasn't, that is Bob watching her!

Then we came to this hill, and at the top were some flags, someone said, let's walk to the top, and this is Jan, heading up. You can see the cars below, so it was NOT a little ways. She made it, but had a hard time coming down. She is terrified of heights, was surprised she went up. At least Bill & Bob were there to help her down.

Another picture from above, if you look close you can see Cindy by the Suzuki, and Gary by the baby Suzuki on the right.

Up on the mountain you could look out all over Quartzite, what a view, and yes, 90% of those white things are RV's of one sort or another, parked in parks and all over the desert, it is truely an AWESOME sight to see!!!

Wanted to leave you with all this beauty, in the middle of no where, are all these commodes, all are filled with plastic flowers, and do they ever sparkle in the sun. Looked like somebody cleaned them on a regular basis, but doubt it, that would be crazy, I don't even like to clean my own toilet! It was funny tho!

Now I will leave you, I have really shortened these up for you, but you get the idea of what we have done for the last month. Sorry about the delay, just know that I will never be gone for long, will find some way to say HOWDY YA"ll, most of you are my friends, and I miss 'talking' to you on a regular basis.

Soo..... Until next time, Love & Prayers, Arlette & Bill too, and the cranky Sassy, couldn't let her out of the car, to many teddy bear cactus, they love to snuggle up, and they HURT!!!!
