Howdy to all of you, am back in good old Oregon again and have the use of my computer, so it is catch up time! Here we are in Bozeman, Montana, such a beautiful place, but not very computer friendly if yer from somewhere 'ferin'! It is a college town and quite interesting, they have several museums, can you believe we didn't hit any of them?? Nope, and you will see why later!!
This would be my cousin Lynda and her husband George, just newly weds, well 3 years, to me it is still in its infancy! I hadn't seen Lynda since 1994 when she got her Masters, and it was wonderful to see her again, I dislike her (just a little), 'cause she is just as slender and pretty as she was as a kid and still full of vinegar too, maybe being a newlywed helps that part of her life, who knows???? We "landed" in Bozeman on Georges birthday and were promptly invited for dinner of "Pasties", sounded peculiar to me, but to those who know me, you know I'll try most anything. Bill was even willing try them and we both really liked them and I plan on making them myself. They are little pies filled with hamburger, potatoes, carrots & onions, or whatever you wanna put in them, you bake them and serve them with brown gravy (lotz) and a green salad. YUMMY!!! That is what the top picture is about! The picture below is their house, it is older, but George is fixing it up and they are most happy about it! They have a super garden and lotz of flowers, 2 dogs, one nice, one not so nice and 5 kids between 'em!
The picket fence needs to be painted white, you know the old saying: "Happiness is a 2 bedroom house and a white picket fence", How about changing that to a 40ft bus, and an 8# Minnie Pinnie! I like that, a lot! HAHA
MANY Years ago when I was just a pup, we use to go here, it wasn't much then, I think you could get in for 50cents or so. It had a cool swimming pool with a metal slide, several mineral areas to soak in and a skating rink. It was a pretty cool place to go and have a ball, but now it costs quite a bit and is a yuppie 'health spa' and no fun at all, they expect you to exercise, can you imagine the gall of that? ME NEITHER!!!
Next we went to the town of Belgrade, such good memories! My Gramma use to live here, and summers I would come and spend time with my 2 aunts, Helen,(Lyndas Mom) and Hannah, and what fun we would have. I even went to the 5th grade here and loved it because the school was small & just a lot of fun! WHEW, was that a LOOONG time ago!
I remembered this grain elevator, I think my Grammas place was on this same road a little farther down , but wasn't sure. The places were old when I was a kid and we couldn't find them, so surmised that they were no longer there anymore!
This is the school I attended and OH BROTHER was it small! When I was a kid it looked HUGE to me. Amazing what shrinks when ya get older! (anybody catch that one?)It is now a swimming pool, at least lotz of kids were coming out in bathing suits & towels, we presumed they had just taken swimming lessons!
Ya know, I don't remember where I saw this guy, but Bill said he sure wouldn't like to have this feller chasing him anywhere 'cause he looks pretty persistent, so I took a picture! He looked real, and pretty ornery!
Lynda & George told us we needed to take a day and drive to Beartooth park, so headed that direction, first thing we saw was this beautiful Osprey, she was just landing on her eggs, we sat for about a half~hour watching her, and after about 15minutes she started "screeching ". We thought maybe we were bothering her, but then all of a sudden, here was the mate, they switched places and He sat for a while, and was still there when we left. What an awesome sight!!
This is the gateway that leaves Yellowstone National Park, quite impressive to drive through, notice the "LITTLE" car.
Forgot to take a picture when we entered Yellowstone, DUH, but here is one saying "bye, bye".
If you don't think our life is a kick in the tush, just look at the smile on my honeys face, that tells it all!
We went up higher than this, but this is the only sign I have a picture of, and look at all the snow, YUCKKKY!
This was soo pretty with the lakes and stuff, it is taken in Bear tooth National forest, Montana.
These, 2, youngsters were really enjoying the snow in late June. They were really cuties!
Can you believe there were about 20 die hard skiers using this ski lift? The snow was down the hill a long way, and they were having a ball. Now me? I thought they were nuts, Bill thought it was really cool!
Saw this lake and made Bill stop so I could get a picture of it, beautiful, Huh??
Now talk about a thing of beauty, WOW! Were just driving along looking at stuff and all of a sudden Bill throws the car in reverse and he is going "wow, oh my, wow, holy cow", and me, "what, what???? Seems he had seen this falls and we stopped to look, AMAZING, it went behind the rocks a long way and came out in a river below. We must have been there at least an hour, just looking at it, and to our surprise, not another person stopped to look, their loss I would say, because it was something to behold!
These guys were just strollin' around the town like they owned it! We didn't see any with the big horns, or antlers, whichever one fits, but they are really big, even the girls are full figured, I LIKE THAT!!!!!
Here is Whody, parked near the grass in the Bozeman Wal~mart where we parked for about 5 days, she wasn't alone, there were 23 other RVs to keep her company!!
Not only do I have a food fetish, but I LOVE our flag, and over the last 2 years I have taken manypictures like this, so thought I would share this one!
Well folks, time to say good by once more, I have another blog and will keep at it to get 'er done, as the saying goes, but for this time, Love to all, prayers and Smiles, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy!
