Cool hat, a dress on I believe, it would be a good one to keep the sun off my face, and cute, too!

Drum used to go to battle, the Rebs were pretty noisy, no wonder they lost!

Sweet William sweet tawked the lady into letting him look through this, but drew the line when he wanted to take it home! He was like a little kid, had to try everything! Ain't he cute???

Love the Drs tools! Boy, as an honorary baby, I'm glad I live now, and NOT then! You see the little device on the bottom, left hand side? It was used for snake bites, to curtail the flow of blood for a while, but was often used when a mans leg or arm had to come off. "Here buddy, have a good swig of whiskey and hang on" EWEEEEEE.........

I was amazed at all the different sizes, I thought all cannons were the same size, OK, so much for having much knowledge. The 3 lighter ones were found on the grounds of the Fort.

I presume this is what they used to put the powder in the cannon to help it go "BOOM" See the Rebel Solders?

This is what was used to put the cannon balls into the cannon. Wicked lookin', ain't it?

These were some of the clothing of the era, and note the braided rug, the women had to really work in this time, there was no Wal-mart. And they say these were the "good Ol Days?)

This was the original barracks, enlisted men were on the 3rd floor. Officers on the 1st and 2nd.

At first I thought this was the infamous "2holer", but turns out it was the woodshed, anyone remember going out behind one of these???

This fireplace used for cooking was MAMMOTH, as hot as it is down here, there aint no way Johnny Reb. I would rather go out and fight for the cause, but it was really impressive to see. You could almost walk into it, and as you can see on the right side, that pulled out when your stew was ready. The "chopping board on the left was used to cut meat, and chickens that ran wild on the grounds. Cain't ya jest heerd it? "SQWAUK" CLUNK, "Suppers ready"!
The "Rebel" officers and enlisted men took their "pewter" plates from this shelf when it was time to eat.

This is the honey, he just "had" to check out this old grinder, located in the kitchen!

This is the mess hall and kitchen, and the pillars below were kind of off to the left, but really close.

These are the pillars that once held the Officers Quarters for the Rebel Army. That building sat up really high, and these are authentic. WOW!

We stopped to eat at a little, and I do mean little place in Robeline, pronounced, Rob-eh-lin, Bill didn't want to stop, you see there were no windows, and a sign that said, "fresh crawfish", sorta scared the 'ol Yankee boy, but Me, wanting to try anything southern, and being diabetic and needing to eat, AND there wasn't another place for miles, we stopped! We both had "small"cheeseburgers, and honeychile, those were the best burgers we have eaten all the way from Oregon! Had a little cajun flavor in the meat, and they were not by any means small, would have loved to seen the beeg ones! I took this picture for my friends in Baker City, they have a restaurant there called the Filling Station, how ever, I found out that this was not a restaurant, but a drive through liqour store, the little gal said, "I'm not an alcoholic, honest, but they have cheap shirts" She was so cute. If ya'll are ever in Robeline, Louisiana, stop in at "Missys Cafe" their burgers and milkshakes $2.00 also HUGE, are out of this world!!

HIYA,HIYA, these are honest to goodness ones too! They use them during pow-wows! This was the Adai,Caddo Indian federation, I'm sorry, but they would not allow us to take pictures inside. Their were many different tribes represented, with beautiful headdresses, weapons such as tomahawks, one club make out of a set of bull horns and pictures of quite a few of the chiefs, Sitting Bull, Chief Joseph, among many, and the statements that were made to the US Government about what they were doing to the Indian people and land. Things ain't changed folks, the Government STILL doesn't listen to anyone, no matter what their origin may be. Right? OOPS, that ain't politically correct, Phooey!

This was such an interesting place, but hard to find. This was the only place out of all the other places we went that charged us a dime. Here it was $6.00 for Seniors. It was very informative, did you know that (according to the Indian Nation), Our constitution was patterned after the way they live? ME NEITHER!!???? Hokay......
We saw this in the court we are staying in in Natchitoches,La. Somebody has a sense of humor! This was a group of Good Sam campers, they were great!
