I'm BAAAck... Rest of Fort Jesup

Talk about the greatest thing, to me it was one of the BEST places we visited because it took me back to my "Hillbilly" roots, which I have always been extremely proud of. BUT......It is 11:30pm, so you folks come on back fer the next installment, ya heer? Ruby you are gona LOVE this, I PROMISE!! See ya,Arlette& Bill too, and the Sassy girl. Here we are at Fort Jesup,in Many, Louisiana. This was such an interesting place, as you will see below. It was 89* in the shade, but all the trees around made it lots cooler. We just could not imagine, or even get the image in our minds of the people who lived here,fought here and died here, brother fighting brother, Yet still managing to survive in this heat, with all the bugs, snakes, even 'Gators.

This was the most amazing thing, you will NEVER guess! It is a Chinese laundry flatiron wood stove. If you notice, all three tiers have a place for 10, yep you got it, 10 flatirons! Whew, no wonder the Chinese were so good at it! Some guy just brought it in and gave it to them, their are said to be only 3 remaining in the USA, one of which is in the Smithsonian, AMAZING!!!
