Proud to be an American, we wave that flag where ever we go! Right now we are in the Sunset campground in Death Valley, and just look at our neighbors, aren't they just great! Loved the Winnie & the Solar Panels. They were an older couple and had been there for a loooong time!
Here we go, I took a lot more pictures than I put on here, and I am sorry the colors are not near as amazing as they are in person, but I tried!
These were just a few of the bikers we passed along the way, they were so low to the ground, but just as hard as the big bikes to petal when you travel up and down in this canyon, Whew, I get tired just watchin' 'em.
As we entered Artist Drive, it warned that nothing over 25' should go, and you can see why, the roads were great traveling, but there were huge dips and some curves too.
This is one of the prettiest spots, but you cannot see all the pinks & purples and greens. It was so pretty it took your breath away!
Bill loved this green, but it was so much more vivid in real life! There are so many different minerals and gems here, no wonder miners came .
This was the coolest place, what you are seeing is salt, plain old table salt, below is a picture inside one of the little bumps above. Sorry, I am not a technical person, I tell my version, you might want to look it up. It was called the devils golf course because only the devil would golf here??? Don't ask me, a guy even brought his clubs, go figure!
This is what you see if you get down and really look, that is pure table salt, I know, I tasted it!
This was a picture from the road of the devils golf course, just looks like a mud field here, but oh the treasures hidden there!
This is a preview of Bad Water, loved the sky.
You will probably get tired of the rock formations, we never did, they are all so different and amazing.
This one almost looked like it was ready to roll away and just waiting his chance!
Now look at this one, see all the red? I would have loved to chipped off a piece, but not suppose to touch anything here, sniff, sniff. Pretty tho, huh?
These are taken in Golden Canyon, notice the different colors and shapes. And look out for big Fred there, he is lookin' for some tourists to smash, his favorite meal, smashed tourist on toast!
We are coming out of golden Canyon, about a 2mile hike, there were so many people, you were hardly ever alone.
Member I told you about Badwater? Well here we are........................I was told a prospectors mule refused to drink here, he said "Bad Water" and it stuck. Not the mule of course!
One of the fascinating things herein the park are the different levels above and below sea level. This was taken from the parking lot of Bad waters and I had to use my 'puller in closer' lens. There were other spots everywhere in the valley that announced weather you were at sea level, below or above, never took so many dives back and forth!
And here is one of the "Bad Water" Creatures, an old salt, still smiling, hope that makes a few of you happy! Sweet William took the camera away so I posed!
It is amazing, it looks like snow out there, and you can see in my hand it looks like snow, but it is salt.
Here are Bill and Sassy, exploring. We stopped here to look around for a while.....
One of the old buildings of the mine, And below is more stuff as well. Can you see them letting anybody go into some of these places today. Old miners were either crazy, or they had guts!!!!! You decide.
And of course the most beautiful flowers, isn't this one amazing?
This one was so delicate, it was hard to imagine it here in this harsh environment, but I guess, like us humans should do, grow where God plants you and do it beautifully!
Enough for today, we are headed down that long road again, back to the campground and Whody. Tomorrow we will pack another lunch and hit the road again. See ya!!!! Hugs, Smiles & Prayers, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
