Cedar City Museum #3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DAUGHTER DONNA!!! Love ya Sweetie!!!  Won't tell ya how old she is, it will make me a lot older! ha ha Hi, in the last blog there was a comment about the sheep shearing shed, our son Jeff said that in Argentina they still have sheds like this in use, so here you see an old saw mill, they still do demonstrations with it, and although it is obsolete here, it probably isn't in Argentina.  right Jeff?
That blade looks pretty sharp, and you can see the tractor engine that runs it.
This was quite an interesting item:
It looked like it had gotten a lot of use.
Now...THIS has been used, a lot!
This  explains the wherefores and whys of the machine!  Guess I'm getting lazy, but can't remember everything! ha ha
This a picture of the Nobel blast furnace where they made iron.  Below is the explanation about it.
.This was the compound of the workers that worked the blast furnace,  when they arrived in covered wagons, the wheels were removed, and shelters were put around the front for privacy and cooking, the in between area was for worship, and the area behind was for the animals.  We went to the area where they were originally parked, that is this rock below.  It is just barely outside of the town of Cedar City.
This beautiful stone building was built by the people of Cedar City, and was the first tabernacle here.  Such a beautiful building and all the rock was from around this area.  Again, I know I sound like a parrot, but there was so much more to see, and I could have done probably 6 blogs for the Cedar City, UT. area alone, but this is it folks.
We are still in the St. George, Utah area and will be for a while, so I will be back and there will be more pictures.  Are headed for Zion National Park on Saturday.  In the meantime, love, hugs and prayers, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
