Leave it to me to start with the food, no honest, the pictures just went where ever they wanted, anyway, here we are at 'Lamberts, the home of the throwed rolls', and what a place! This is their chicken fried steak, it comes with mashed taters and your choice of veg, I chose sweet taters, below you will see what they call "pass arounds", you have your choice of: mac & cheese, fried taters & onions, YUMMO, black eyed peas, not bad, and fried okra, Yucky, but will say, it was better here than at other places!
Here are some of those pass arounds, if my becoming a southern gal depends on eatin' okra, 'fraid I am sunk! Ill be a Yankee all my life! HAHA
This is what you see coming in the door as well as going out, business cards millions of them, it is incredible! Below is the fella that was the "official roll thrower", he would walk through the dining rooms with HOT rolls right from the oven and holler "ah rolls", all you had to do is raise your hand and he got it in your hand every time, pretty cool, he even stopped and posed for this picture, cute kid!
This is the entrance, and this one was in Ozark, Mo., we went at 1:30pm, figgered most folks would be finished with lunch, only to find that everyone else thought the same, we signed our name and sat down to wait, it took about 15min, and we were seated. There was so much to see whiles we were waiting, like this little train going all around the building, old pictures, an old stove, it was just an amazing place, and the people that come here are a kick to watch too. Everything is laid back, so if ya get a chance to go, don't be in a hurry, it will ruin it for you. The prices were really good and they have unusual things too, like Liver & onions, Chicken Gizzards & livers, Hog jowl, $10.99 "Somethin' Southern",white beans with your choice of fried bologna or ham, 2 Veggies and a King
Edwards cigar or Big red chewing gum, nope, don't ask cause I don't know, but it was only 8.99, and was a favorite we were told. We had the time of our lives and would definitely go back, so come on, let's go and have a fun time!!!!!Sorry it has taken so long for this blog, I have a few more, honest, we were at an Eagle Bus Rally in Branson, Mo, spent a week with friends in beautiful downtown Protem, went across a Ferry to Arkansas, "WHEW" long story, and are now in Texarkana, Tx. Soooo..... come on back and take a peek once in a while, when we are where I can put a blog on I will do it OK? Love, hugs and Prayers to all, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
