Corning,NY, Corning glass factory

Howdy, when you go to Corning,  NY, you HAVE TA visit the the Corning factory, what a treat!  This is what you see when you in enter the building, only, believe it or not, neither Bill nor I saw it until we left.......gettin' old folks!  Then of Course I spied this beautiful, whatever it is, sits to carelessly on a small end to hold much of anything, but it sure was purty!!Now this is something special, it is called a 'Posset Cup',(1730-1750)  Posset is a drink  made with hot milk that was curdled w/wine or ale, spiced or sweetened, and thickened with oatmeal or bread, GAA~ROSSE, they must have been loony back then. The bobble, 2 pictures above this writing, is a gift my darling husband wanted me to buy for him, he hunted me down just to ask, that I do this, and of course, I said, "Oh Sure"  It was only $44,000, I'll just take it out of petty cash, NOT!!!!  What would he do with it anyway, I ask you!  The next thing is a glass Harmonica, they played music for us to hear, but it was beyond me how you would get the thing up to your mouth, it was HUGE!!!!This pretty lady is done all in mosaics, I am not much of a fan of mosaics, but she was really beautiful, you had to be when you wore no make~up, and she was!  Some women just have it all, huh gals! hahaThe next 2 pictures  are of the glass blowers we were blessed enough to watch.  The one above is just starting a bowl, and the 2nd fellow made this one,. Because it is clear, after he showed it to us, he dropped it in cold water and it smashed to smithereens!  You should have heard the audience, there was one big "GASP". It was quite plain, but very pretty, and it was very hot, approx. 2,500 degrees! These 2 pictures, although the hummers weren't to clear, were just a few of the pretty glass things for sale.  It was just like a flower garden, so many different kinds, lotz of roses, weren't to fond of those, but loved the daffodils, sunflowers , and other varieties.  The humming birds were done perfect, and sold for around $2,500, rather see real ones, but they were well done!,And here is Whody, all set up and relaxed.  We stayed at a really nice campground called ' Camp ~Bell, in the town of Campbell, clever, huh!  We had such a great time, but are back on the road again, heading for..??? Maybe, Niagara falls, come on back & see!!!  Until next time, Blessings on ya, Hugs and all the other stuff, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
