WEE~HAAAA

e Hey, Ya'll, Here we are in Louisiana, just look at that swamp, am I a happy camper?, you bet!

As we headed for the RV campground in Livingston, LA, we saw this poor truck off to the side, his tractor had came loose from the trailer, and swung him right in the ditch! At least he was OK, saw him on the phone.
!
Got all parked and set up, it was kind of gloomy, but connected with old friends, went to dinner at a local drive in, wonderful catfish & oysters for Bill. went home and to bed, got up the next morning looked out the window and Zowie.....................

It was SNOWING, NOOOoooooooo, this is Louisiana, it is suppose to be warm here not snowing!

The kids LOVED it, they have had snow twice this year, if you want to call it that! This little guy got one snowball, and was trying to get a bird with it, he didn't get one, they are fast little boogers, he was so disappointed!

Got up Saturday morning and Whody girl decided she was too pooped to start, so we went looking for a starter, yep, uh~huh,OKIE DOKIE! Whiles driving around we decided to call our friends Stan & Marsha to see if they wanted to do dinner again, told them why we would be here, SOB, and they were as happy a Louisiana Crawfish boilin' in a big ole pot! And wonder of wonders, Stan knew a guy here in the court that works for Freightliner in Baton Rouge, we called him, and yippee, he had a starter for us but, it was llam and they closed at noon, ratz, gotta wait til Monday. Came home, Bill crawled, yep, poor ole feller, under Whody, got the starter out, it weighed 70# dropped on his sweatshirt and he had a heck of a time getting loose, when Whody drops parts, they is BIGG Parts, but he made it out, and the above picture shows what he looked like, a big 'ol grease spot, but a cute one I might add!!

By Sat. morning the sun was shining and we were glad we stayed, got treated to a Mardi Gras parade, with beads and candy and everthang! And NO, it was a family thing I had to do nothing but sit in my easy chair to obtain the beads, HAHAHA!!! The kids were having a ball, but so were the adults, Mardi Gras is a big thing down here, as is FAT TUES, schools close and are out for a week, PARTY TIME!!!!!

Even the adults get into the act, this is our friend Stan Watson, all decorated up, tooting his horn, throwing beads and candy, what a good time everyone had and it was fun to watch it!

That night we went to an all park potluck, and here in Louisiana, ya just don't know what is gona be in that pot! We both ate our first Jambala, and it was gooood, even old , I DON'T EAT STRANGE STUFF Bill said so. And the fellowship was great!!!

This picture is in the wrong order, but this is a piece of "King Cake" a must for Mardi Gras, it is a pastry filled with all different kinds of fillings, the top is covered with the colors of Royalty, and the idea is to "Eat til ya bust" cause Lent is coming. Don't believe in that maself, but they do here. Anyway, baked in every one is a little baby, and tradition says if you get the "Baby" you have to buy the King Cake next year, Hey ya'll I ain't gona be here next year, so ya'll keep your little pink baby!

This is what the King Cake looks like before its cut, you can't see the red & purple colors for some reason, but it is BIG, and it is RICH! Mine had a pecan filling, Bills had a strawberry filling!

Here's the little pink baby, Bill got one too, but he doesn't know how to give birth very well cause HIS baby was all YUKKY, mine was nice and clean, see, what can you expect, he IS a man after all, they don't quite know how to do that!!

This is our friend Marsha Watson, she is the SWEETEST little Southern Gal you would eva' wanna meet, she even WRITES Suthern, ya'll. She was born in New Orleans, raised in Baton Rouge, and is Suthern to the core, LOVE IT!!

This is such a great park, they even have their very own swans, the black one is Midnight, and the white one is Snowflake, veery appropriate for this year aw woud say-a.

I know, I am wacko, but here is Bill, headed into Freightliner to pick up Whodys starter.

Our last night here we were taken by 7 other folks to this place, as usual, we were expecting unusual cuisine, and we got it!

It was Monday, and on Monday Chookies has a dozen RAW Oysters, ARGggggg, yukky, petoo~eee, gag, for$5, and this feller at 2 plates , his wife ate one. People pack into this place to do this, I could hardly believe it! Bill & I chose to eat Catfish & Shrimp basket like any good too~rist frum Oregone! YEE~HAW YANKEE POWER!!!!!!!!!!! But...............

We DID eat fried pickles and they were good! Bein' a Yankee, I figgered they just dropped a whole pickle in batter and deep fried 'em, but no, they made chips out of 'em. Amazin', another thing, you can get 'Sweet Tater Fries' all the time down here, OH I do love it down here, next time you see me I will be related to the Good Year Blimp, but that's OK, I'll have lived a fun life before all my air goes out, right?

Here is how they come, just like a basket of Onion rings, or French fries, Amazing!
Well folks, this is our last night in Louisiana, tomorrow we head for Mississippi, Alabama, then Florida, so keep on comin' back, it is gona be all new to us and thus to you as well ! Love to all, Prayers & Hugs, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
