Florida is, and should be, proud of their fliers, they even put them on the freeway holder uppers, well, at the moment can't think of what they are called, so guess this will work!
When we got settled in Pensacola, we went for a little drive, as we usually do, just to look around at the sights, stopped at a park, and saw a black spot waaaay out in the water, kept looking, and realized it was a black dog. The owner had thrown a stick out, and the current had caught it and taken it out faster then the dog could swim, and the dog was determined to get it, the owner was frantic, calling the dog back, and finally the dog turned around and came back, whew!!!!!
And this big guy sat on the bird house, on one leg even, and watched the whole thing! " Dumb dog, all he has to do is put out his wings, he could be to the shore in no time, humph!" And once again we came to these funky houses on stilts, this looked like an old house that they had just raised, and again, none of the houses have foundations, other than blocks, blows the mind, huh?
Then we headed for the beach, and what a beach! It was still the Gulf of Mexico, but the sand was white as snow, and the water was warm. The weather wasn't super warm, mid 60's, but it was still amazing!
Here's Sweet William, just before we took our stroll on the white sands!
I loved this house, 99% of the houses on the beach are so colorful, I liked that, no yukky beige, or brown, they had pink, turquoise, bright blue's & greens, orange, you name it, these folks have a flair for life,or are just plain crazy, either way is fine with me, I loved it all.
This was our first sunset in Florida, thought it was cool because it looks like snow, but it is really sand on the roadside. We had driven out on this long jetty where there was nothin' but water and sand all around us. Didn't get back until dark, and it was soooo cool!
On our way out to the jetty we saw this, AGRHHHHHHH, thought we left all the aliens in the west on the desert, guess not!

People are different down here and yet the same, housing is weird, but so much is the same as home, Wal~marts, Best Buy, Michaels, Ross, Lowes, Dominos, Subway, etc. We have found in our travels so far that although everything is different, everything is the same. To our amazement, every state we have been in so far has an abundance of untouched land. We sorta thought Florida would be super populated, some folks think Oregonstill has Indians to fight too, but there is so much land that is untouched, yes, a lot of swamps, but good land as well, who would have guessed?? As for the people, we haven't found Florida to be one of the friendliest places, but folks will speak if you speak first. We have had a few fellas stop and ask about the bus, and one lady asked where we were headed.
We have stayed mostly in Wal~Marts, and have been undisturbed, even having chats with the security guards.
One thing, even the wayside rest areas are guarded, but at no time have we felt afraid.
Well folks, that's all for this time, try to get as many pictures on as I can for you, it is a beautiful state, and there is more to come, so hang in there!
Until next time, Prayers, Smiles and Hugs, Arlette & Bill too, and the Sassy
