This plane was really pretty, it had just been shined up so good it would even have scared a pigeon away. They were working on another plane as well, all the workers are volunteer. Bill said that when we move down here,(ya,right), he is going to volunteer so that we can go on rides in some of these planes. They show them all over the world, if you are a volunteer you sometimes get to go! Also, they will teach you how to fly them so that all you have to have is your certification, 'here we go... into the wild blue yonder...', well, someday maybe, what fun for us both!
This is what got him started, he walked around this engine for almost 15min, just being amazed, there were several, some were really HUGE!!
This one is actually a Russian plane, it was used against us in the Korean & VietNam wars. Pretty mean looking if you ask me!

This one was flown in the 'Kinder wars', no, really, this little girl was NOT friendly, but she was so cute I finally got her to at least look at me with a grimace. Her plane was the same color as the bigger one, close anyway, and her Daddy is a volunteer.
This was a B17G, a fighting fortress called 'Sentimental Journey' and what a beauty! They are still working on her as you can see. She held quite a few men, and had a blond painted on one side, a brunette on the other, HEY, how come no redheads?? Oh well, they did good in the war anyway, and I am sure a lot of them came back to their ladies safely, while others didn't.
You were allowed in the B17 if you chose to go, Bill chose to go, but told me it was pretty narrow in there, so I backed away, all I needed was to get my tiny hiney stuck and then have my claustrophobia click in, don't even want to think about it! It would NOT have been pretty, I assure you. Here he is in the cockpit grinnin' like a Cheshire cat and lovin' it!

I did go in, but in the back way, lotz easier, (and more spacious) the first thing I came to was this big old machine gun, guess that is what they were called. It sure looked ready for action! Saw no seat so guess you had to stand up to fire WOW, can you imagine? I can't!!
Here we are on the business end of that machine, you have a really good view, but whoever is shooting back has a good view of you as well. Makes you respect the men who fought and are still fighting, to keep our country free, even more, THANKS FELLA'S.
Here comes Sweet William, surprised to see me in the plane. These planes are HUGE, but the inside isn't near as big, this is the "belly of the whale", and there isn't an awful lot of room!
On the way back from the 22 mi. not there museum, I started noticing the over-passes and the sides of the freeways, some of them are so pretty I put a few on for you. They are pretty to look at, but I don't know what to tell you about them, so just enjoy how pretty they are, see ya down below!
OOPS... don't know where this picture came from, but there is a lot of ' just desert', and as you can see, my "chocolate mountains", YUMMY!!

Well, this one has cactus's.............
They have sooo many pretty things by the freeways here, guess it is because there is very little rain, and people need something pretty to look at when they are in all this blasted traffic. Well, that's all folks, it turned out to be a really short day, but a fun day anyhoo. Tomorrow we head up to a cool National Park, so come on along..........we will have lotz to show you, you know me and pictures, and of course I do love to talk as well, NAW, not me. Until next time, keep your plane right side up and a smile on your face! Smiles, Prayers and Love, Arlette & Bill too, and the pouty Sassy, she had to stay home, to hot!
