Well, hello from Arizona, Quartzsite to be exact! We came here for a bus rally, so thought I would start out with that. This was the prettiest GM, the folks have owned it for years and they have taken really good care of it! Nice, huh??
Now, Bill threatened me with this, said gas prices were gettin' to high, and this was already licensed in Oregon, it is kinda cute, but I don't think so!!!!
This is a really nice scenic cruiser, I just LOVE these old buses, don't you? Hoppy, if you are still following , you can see how cool they are, and how many different kinds as well!
Another threat from Sweet William, ya, right, but it was pretty cool. Ya see everything here, from fancy motor coaches to just tarps, enough to cover what is necessary. If you go to the desert it is all free!( a very good price! Here you kind of see what we do at the bus rallies, there were 100 or more buses of all varieties here, not just Eagles, will show you more. But.... what we mainly do is talk, eat, talk, and eat some more! It is really fun to meet up with the different folks and see their buses, each have their own ideas, all good for the individuals purpose.
Bill and I really liked this paint job, it is simple but nice. You can't tell, but it was white on the top half and a very light gray in the middle with a little pearl in it. No, we aren't gona copy them, we still plan on painting the Whody emerald green, but like the stripes on this one.
This is a cute little Silversides made in the late 40's and early 50's. I love these old buses, but Whody, (our Eagle, for those who don't know) will always be my favorite!
Now, will ya look at this! Those who have never been to Quartzsite in the winter, can not even begin to imagine what it is like here. There have to be 10,000 or more rigs here, most parked out in the desert where ever they want, from end to end of this little town. Vendors are up and down each side of the street selling everything from soup to nuts, and all us crazy RVers walk the streets just looking at all of it! What is really cool is when you go to most restaurants here, you sit with whomever, and you visit! What fun, everyone is your neighbor and there are no strangers! It's wonderful! Course ya have to be a Gypsy like us to enjoy it I guess. Cause we sure do!!
Now we are gona take a journey to the funnest place, a little rough gettin' there, as you can see, looking out the front window of our Suzuki, that is Bob, making sure we can get over the hump.
Now we have arrived at our destination, and what a cool place. It is far up in the hills, someone poured a cement slab, and each year the folks that visit ad something new. Some folks spend Christmas day and New Years day here.................
A new potty, that's me, gettin' ready to pull the chain, even have toilet paper at your disposal pretty cool..............
And.....an Oregon flag, we talked to a fella from Lebanon, Or. ,small world isn't it, on top of that he knew someone Bill knew as well, amazing!
All the trees are decorated with all kinds of things, there are chairs, regular and lounge, a grave, a donkey, wood, to be replaced if you use it, and a popcorn can with a book in it to sign when you visit! Amazing place!
If ya walk a ways to the top of the hill, this is the view, look close and you will see Quartzsite and the RV's everywhere. In short, we are doing as the Sassy.....................
Kickin' back, lettin' it all hang out and really enjoying ourselves! Yes we do a lot of napping too, isn't life GREAT???
So until next time, and I will try to be more diligent, Love, Prayers and Hugs from us crazy folks!
Arlette & Bill too and the Sassy
