Well folks, I did the best I could, telling you about Yuma, there was soo much more but only so many hours in a day, and this blog is really looong, if you want to know the real low-down, just ask my friend Dot, she use to live there!
Time to go for now,Love & Prayers to you all, come along with us the next time. Arlette & Bill too, and the DAWG, Sassy.
PS Smiles & Prayers and love to Ruby.
Now go on down and enjoy the rest of the blog! Don 't know how the "pole" got down here!
Thought about painting Whody like this, what do ya say?? Anybody brave enough to answer????

This house was on the canal, and they just "pull the curtains" when the sun gets to hot! Cool!!
Here be Whody at our campsite in Yuma, we stayed at the "Yuma Sands" nice park, friendly folks as well. It sat on a canal, and that is where we took our walks with the Sassy, she loved it and so did we!
On the way to Yuma we encountered "Border Patrol" they had several pulled over, and also had dogs, but we were signaled to go on, a really unique feeling, one I'm sure we will see often in our travels, "You go boys, keep us safe"!
WELCOME TO YUMA,ARIZONA, look familiar Dot???? It is really pretty in this town, and WARM!!
A very pretty fountain, so had to take a picture, I love this sorta thing!
Went to Historic old town Yuma, and we agree, it was old, but what caught our eye? A street sale, they had everything from soup to nuts, and we bought a little of both, how fun. Even met a lady selling Scentsy from Richland, Oregon, to boot!!
Bill fell in love with this old hotel, I want to buy it and fix it up says He, OK, says I, "see ya in Pharr, have a good time, I'm takin' the money, honey"!!
In the early 20's, 30's & early 4o's, people came through with no money, and used the empty jail as housing until they were kicked out and signs were posted that " if you didn't have work, or a reason to be there, get on outa here"!! Later it was also used as school rooms, and to this day the school mascot is the Yuma Criminals. HOPE there aren't many criminals there!!
This is a picture of both the railroad bridge and the one-way bridge by the old prison.
They didn't think much of the local Sheriff, or thought he was a little "Full" of Himself!!
If youcan read what is on this bank, things haven't changed much over the years, has it????? DWE Cheatam & Howe
"I warned Him once or twice, to stop dealin' cards and shootin' dice, He's in the jailhouse now", anyone remember THAT song from years ago??????
Here we go, into the cell part of the prison, this guy was guarding, looks like he took one to many naps on GRAVE-YARD, so they left him for the rest of the day!! HA,HA!!
If you aren't happy with the "accommodations" just step out side and take a walk up the stairs to our "guest platform" It may not be the best choice, cause there IS a small hole in the floor, but not to worry, we have a special "rope" for your safety! (snicker, snicker)
Yuma, Arizona, in prison, this room, temp. 110*, no air~conditioning, well, actually, this was one of the country club variety, they had a breeze, if there was one, it would go through both units! Nuthin' but the best for those bad-boys!
Whoo, Hoo, this is where I want him, but dog-gone, I couldn't stand to leave him when it came right down to it!
Bill, going out of "the Hole! That is where they put "naughty" prisoners. One guy was in there 3 days just for using fowl language, more prisons today should be like this, GO ARIZONA!!!!!
Here is the original clock that was in the prison, Now I ask you, why do prisoners need a clock, aren't they "retired" just like us?
This was the guard tower that over~looked the prison yard and outside, that's where the Gatling gun was, but underneath was the water supply. Not much H2O in that area at the time, so to keep it cool they multi~tasked Smart folks I'd say.
Don't mess with those guards at the prison, or you are bound to end up under rocks like these, and the graveyard was full, sorta creepy!
Another cool house, actually saw it coming to our camp ground, but didn't get a picture til later, wouldn't ya just love to see inside? Bill wouldn't let me go knock on the door, he ain't NO FUN~!! Just kiddin', I wouldn't have the nerve!
Now I've seen weird things in my life, but a one~way bridge, WOW, we were looking for the old Yuma Fort, but it was closed down and is the, Quechan Indian reservation, the whole place was pretty run down, and you know Bill & I, we headed out on one of our "Adventures", and thought we were lost in scalpin' territory fer sure, but finally did find our way back to the campground, "WHEW".
Met an old friend whiles down there, does this bear look familiar to you folks??
