Hey, Have been trying to get some pictures on here of what we did on our FIRST trip to Baton Rouge, I mean besides getting lost, fallerd the wrong leetle dots on the map, yep, yep, took me a whall to figger it out, but oncet I got it we rally flewed!
We had looked at all kinds of brochures, and I decided I wanted to go to the Enchanted Mansion, it were a dolly museum, What a surprise. Fust we got talked at, well sorta, he was really tawlkin' to a clock 'n a bird, by a big 'ol Taddy Bar! That man 'o mine ain't use ta such pecular stuff and almost bolted fer the door, but Aw held onta him, and we finally got ta go through the museum. Amazing! This lady is 83yrs. young, and has collected dolls since she was 7yrs. old. When her hubby refused to build onto the house for her collection, she started a museum, and after expenses the rest goes to the handicapped children of the area. It was like walking through another world, and there was the most unique doll house that she bought from New Orleans only one week before Katrina, or it would be gone, it is over 100yrs. old, and had all the furniture and dolls that came with it, really cool. I always wanted a dolly house, and I loved that one! I wasn't allowed to take pitchers in side, but took one of the bar and the tawkin' fish! The bird and the clock didn't turn out so well. Anyway, after we left there, ma better half thoroughly charmed,(RIGHT) was hungry an decided to go eat and figger out war to go next. Stopped at a place called "Canes" thinkin' it was a sit down place where we could get this stuff all figgered out, but no, it was a cheeken place, all thay had was cheeken, so we ordered us a cuple 'o baskets and set arselves dawn. After about haf-our we, in our great wisdom thought it was figgered out and we was ready to go. Wall....needless to say,I got dem leetle colerd dots meexed up, and we wint at least 10miles in the wrong di-rection! OOPS!!Glad ma feller is so sweet, we just hi-tailed it back to the free-way and Zip, we was where we was suppose ta be! TA~DA!! There we was at the LSU Rural Life Museum, and boy-howdy was it ever Grand! We spent about 2hrs there, and could have spent a lot more time, it was really great. It was hot though, about 94*, and most all of it is outside, WHEW, if ah hadn't et that cheeken aw wouda faded rat away!Yah, right!! Anyway, I have some amazing pictures, and because Bill felt a little nee-glected, HE is in a lot of the pitchers, see ah does love 'im! HOWEVER:::: This heer computer must be a Yankee, cause there has been some good 'ol southern storms today, and it refuses to up load any pictures at all! When it will, I have LOTS of 'em to show.
Tomorry we plans on goin' to about 4 more in the same area, and hopefully won't get lost agin! So for this time Thanks and will keep workin' on them pitchers! Love to all, Arlette & Bill too, and happy Sassy
