Boy, from yesterdays blog, actually done today, you'da thought I had Another 2 holer day, What a mess, hope you could make a little sense of it!
Now, for today, We headed for Big D-little a-double L-A S! We were really amped, yessir-re-bob, we was. Got there by following our GPS, and STILL had no cotton-pickin' idear where we were. Here we are, driving around and around like a goldfish in a bowl, when I discovered a parking lot UNDER the very building we needed to go into. Now those of you who know me are aware I am a little claustrophobic, well let me tell you folks, when we started down into that garage, I just knew we were headed down where the gargoyles, bats, and 'ol Lucifer his-self was sittin' just watching us descend. I was sweatin' sumthin' awful and gettin' sorta nervous, when Sweet William spies this parking space, right next to the elevator. Now let me tell you, I don't care a lot about elevators neither, but you never saw anyone move as fast as this old gal! I was in that next hole so fast that Bill thought I was gone until he heard me hollar "Git or body in here, I want out of here". He moves pretty good for an old feller! We then headed upstairs to the Visitor Center, where we found the prettiest bright red Pegasus (horse with wings). Bill said it was for Flying J?? This was a HUGE building called the Old Red Courthouse that had been restored. We found the info. desk and the gal was on the phone, no time fer turists you see! So we kinda wandered, just lookin', when this Security Officer says, "kin I hep you folks?" I says yeah, we want to see it all, we're from Oregon and .......He points to a door, "then go on in thar, that's whar ya kin start. So we did. There was a little history of Dallas and the Court House, but not much, so went back to "Turist Info" and she tells us what to go see, talkin' 1000miles per.,thought Texans talked S-L-OO-W. We head out the door, can't remember a dadburned thing she said, asked 3 people and finally made it to the Kennedy Museum. It was OK, but cost us $25. as Seniors just to get in. You aren't allowed to take pictures, or touch anything, and are given a set of headphones to follow pictures around the building. OOO~K? The best part of the whole thing was standing where the actual shots were fired from, kinda creepy tho. Was gona get a picture outside,Plum Fergot..... Then we headed for some lunch and then the Aquariam. Let me tell you folks.......We is SMALL TOWN FOLKS, and it showed! Here we are walking downtown Dallas, can't find a restaurant that we felt comfortable with (after all, it weren't Dennys or IHOP ya know), when a very kind gentleman asked if he could help us, YES says we. We ended up at a delightful Bakery, I got a chicken salad, Bill got (get this, a chicken salad sandwich, on Dark rye with currents) and chicken noodle soup ! Yowza, is the feller gettin' cosmopolitan or WHAT??? He loved it. Desserts were: apple somethin',Him....small choclate,YUMMY bunt cake for me, Yes, I ate it all, what did you expect??
Now we are headed for the aquarium, thinkin' we was gona have to take a bus, so we ask someone where a bus was that would take us there......It's only 4 blocks, why do you need a bus? OOPS....looked lotz further on the map, so off we go,hopefully in the right DI-Rection, found ourselves in an interesting area, about ready to turn around, and WA~LA there it was! Went in,paid,$32..75, yipes, and proceeded onward and upward. You go into a rain forest first, then into the actual aquarium itself. Now let me tell you, I found some of my Relatives in that place, big ones, small ones, cute, ugly, fat, skinny, and took lotz o'pictures. Such interesting things and many beautiful things. We were there over 4hrs., and could have spent all day, just looking at all the amazing creatures. I mean the people, too. There were just about as many kinds of people as there were animals, and lotz of little monkeys too,(kids)
It was well after 5pm when tired, drug out, and hot, it was quite humid in there, we headed out the door, it was NOT the same door, we were lost, again! Finally after asking a very nice lady, we found the building where we parked the car, and I knew crunch time was here, headed for the elevator and down into the bowels, only to find out it wasn't so bad and the exit was right there, WHEW!! Now to get OUT of Dallas in the 5oclock traffic,Bill managed not to hit anyone and we made it! Sassy Frassy was SOOO glad to see us, her bladder was almost stretched to capacity!
I will put some pictures on and try to explain what they are as I go. We had a great day, very tiring, it was 95* outside, and at least 80* humidity, even inside the Aquarium, felt like I was gona melt, YEAH RIGHT, not much chance of that!! Ha.
Love & Smiles to all, Arlette & Bill, too, and Bladder-bustin' Sassy
