A NEW FOUND JOY?

Hey! Just a quick one tonight, we were suppose to head for Baton Rouge, LA. this morning, but during the night I woke up itching like I had ants in my pants! Couldn't figure out why I had bites, (picture) all over my legs, I had only seen a few mosquiteos, and hadn't seen many bugs at all, I knew that SOMETHING had dined, and mightily (probably even had campagne) because you'd a thought I was Elvis the way I was dancin' around! I had no idea what to do, used listerine and some Melaluca oil, it helped, but not much, finally Bill sprayed bug repelent, which I SHOULD have used in the first place, and it calmed enough to get a little relief, but by morning it seemed to get worse. Being the sweetie he is, Bill asked the caretaker what to do, he says, Aw, jist a few skeeters, go to the dollar store and get some campho phenique, that'll take keer of em! So, off we went, but went to a small grocery store instead, and ask the lady what to do, showed her my legs, and she very calmy says,"Dat ain't skeeters chile, thems CHIGGER bites", what the heck is a chigger says me, I'm from Oregon and have never heard of that! Well, it seems that they are a "no see'em bug around here, and when you sit near the ground, or stand for a while, they devour you!OHGOOOODY!!!!!! She said the best way to handle them is to soak in epson salts, then put alchol on each bite, leave it for a while, then do it again and then wash yourself with soap and water. Okey, Dokey, we don't have a bathtub, second choice, "jist put da alchol on each bite, but I warns ya, It's gona Lite ya up honey and hurt plenty, do it twiced, take a good shawer and ya'll feel better rally soon, Good luck". So, off we go to get some rubbing alcohol at the Dollar General, went home, and fallerd instructions. AAAGHRRRRRRRRR Lit me up aright, did it twice, by this time I was ready to get out of this state for good, or just die, the former being the better choice, but after my shower it settled down a lot, and now just have an ithch every so often. I wanted to make friends down here, but not this kind!!
Well, now that is over, It really is pretty here, and tomorrow bright and early we are headed for BatonRouge, La. I will put a few pictures of our campground, the local things of interest, but there isn't much glamour here, this is the REAL Louisiana. Gona go for now, will try to get some pictures on. Love to all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Sweet Annie, and will see you when I see you! Arlette & Bill, too, and the Sassy!
