The last night at this campground, sad but fun to keep going! We are now in Gladewater, Texas, about 75miles from Jefferson, and are going into Kilroy tomorrow to see the East Texas Oil Museum. It has taken me 5 times to get these pictures on and I really hope you all enjoy them!
Love to all,Smiles and all that stuff, Arlette & Bill too, and the Ornery Sassy
The activity room at our campground, I'M KIDDING, Was doing laundry until 11pm.YUKKY

Even the old sink was on the wall here, it was so cool!

This was the Newspaper Office, "The Sun", and it had the most amazing machinery, the best of its time, we spent quite a bit of time just looking in here, Bill LOVED it!

Even had all the law books!

Here we have an attorneys office. Everything you need, on the left a place for clients to sit, a place for the Secretary, a pot bellied stove, and the Lawyers actual office was on the right.

This was the only horse troth in town, and of course it was in front of the Saloon!

Yep, they even had a really nice "coffin" fer sale! Never knew when you'd need one!

The store even had a table to play checkers on and a pickle barrel.

This was the "General Store", where they had a little bit of everything. Notice the bonnets, shoes, toiletries, and then dishes as well.

The living room, kitchen and all. To the Left was another room used for food storage.

This was a "typical" log cabin. the roof wasn't far from Bills head. Notice the bed, to the left was a door, and it had only one window.

Cherokee TIPI, the Indians came from Arkansas, but the Texas Indians didn't like them and pushed them into Oklahoma. Rotten ole Injuns!

The church "privy, Hey gals, try liftin' those skirts and not Going on yourself in a place like this!

The Village Church, and it was Baptist.

The first "Indoor Plumbing" in Dallas, great tub, had all you needed, note the coal stove!

Clothes of the period, the small waist was the product of the corset, which produced broken ribs and ladies fainted...... A LOT! Aint ya glad we can "Let it all hang out?" This was a weddin' dress of the period, wearing white was not established until the 1900, because white was hard to come by, especially in silk or satin.

This was an old pump Organ, much like the one Bills Mom had.

Inside the "Plum" house. This is the company room where only dignitaries or special folks were put. Mr. Plum was the water commissioner, and a plumber by trade, so his house was the first house in Dallas to have electricity, telephone, and running water!

Not as purty inside!

Pretty classy, but only a 2holer, but it was in the neighbors front yard. GROSS!

A place to go in case of a Tornado, and a cool place to keep things as well.

What do they say about the "good old days?" Notice the shed in back.

This is the kitchen, note the stove on the right.

This is a bathtub, I could probably get my Hiney into it, but it would take a block & tackle to get me out!

The ladies Tea room, and sewing room as well, in the other room you can see the spinning wheel.

This is a 'middle class' Jewish home.
